Colum Caldwell
President & CEO & Director
Mr. Caldwell, DBS, CPA, has been involved in the establishment and early stage management of a number of technology companies since the mid 1980s. These companies were active in providing design tools and services to diverse industries such as road, mining, airplane and ship design. Mr. Caldwell is also a member of the IEEE.

In 1992 Mr. Caldwell joined the original Optimal, when it was a power line software development company, as an Executive Director. He engineered a turn-around in the company products and services and was instrumental in expanding the company from its UK base into the North American and Asia markets. In 1999 Mr. Caldwell joined a European wireless LAN start-up, and managed it through its incubation period until it completed its first OEM sale. He rejoined Optimal in the UK in February 2002 and worked principally with all of the parties involved in the acquisition of that company by its Canadian parent. He also oversaw the integration of the remote sensing and power line software business units.

Mr. Caldwell joined the Board and was appointed President and CEO of Optimal Geomatics Inc. in May 2003.

Verne Pecho
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Verne Pecho, CA and MBA, possesses over 30 years of senior financial management and business experience with several aggressive growth companies within the wireless, geomatics, and aviation industries. Mr. Pecho has served as Chief Financial Officer for both public and private companies including MDSI Mobile Data Solutions Inc, MacDonald, Dettwiler & Associates Ltd, Versacold Corporation, and Okanagan Helicopters Ltd.

Mr. Pecho joined Optimal after serving as Chief Financial Officer for Vancouver-based, public high tech software company, MDSI Mobile Data Solutions Inc. (“MDSI?. MDSI specializes in wireless workforce management and dispatch solutions for utility and telecommunications companies worldwide. During his 9 year tenure with MDSI, Mr. Pecho was responsible for managing internal IT, treasury, accounting and purchasing functions. Significant projects included the company’s initial public offering on NASDAQ, business acquisitions and dispositions, and the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

Mr. Pecho’s experience includes management of interdisciplinary teams, implementation of financial information systems, financial management of large development contracts, capital markets, business acquisitions, and listing and compliance on both the TSX and NASDAQ.

W P Roger Bannon
Chairman
Roger Bannon, FCA, is a business manager with over twenty-five years of experience at the Chief Executive and Finance Director level. His particular expertise is in International markets, notably the USA and the Far East, where he has extensive experience in negotiating and managing joint ventures with substantial multi-national companies, including distribution arrangements, procurement facilities as well as corporate acquisitions and disposals.

In recent years Mr. Bannon has been one of the principal shareholders and an executive Director of Rapid Technology Group Plc a company quoted on the Dublin and London Stock Exchanges. He was the executive director charged with the responsibility of overseeing the flotation process.

Mr. Bannon has wide-ranging experience in rapidly growing companies, both small and large, having previously worked at a senior level with Coopers & Lybrand and the Smurfit Group. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1975, but has been working mainly in the industrial environment since 1984, concentrating on emerging technology companies.
